The private property debate in China

The opponents of private property in communist China see the proposed new law as a final sell-out to capitalist interests. Others fear that the new law will further empower the rich. The supporters argue that unless the growing number of protests over land and property acquisition by vested interests are diffused, "socialist" China may yet be destabilised by protests over private property rights.
